Create with Carla - Hedgehogs

A cosy autumn painting session inspired by one of our most familiar little garden visitors.

We’ll explore how to build the hedgehog from simple shapes, create the suggestion of fur and spines using layers of colour and expressive marks, and bring the surrounding grasses and fallen leaves to life without painting every tiny detail.

The focus will be on observing shape, texture and colour, and learning how a few well-placed marks can often say far more than trying to paint every single spike!

You’ll be guided through the painting step by step, with plenty of opportunity to develop your own version and work at a pace that feels comfortable.

This workshop is suitable for all abilities, including complete beginners, and is all about building confidence, experimenting with paint and enjoying a few hours of relaxed creativity.

All materials are included, along with plenty of tea, coffee and homemade cake.
